I was very pleased to be chosen as one of six artists whose work will be on display at The New Photographers, a show opening this Thursday at studio sixtysix. I am showing a triptych of totally new work and I’m really excited to share this new direction with the public!
The facebook event can be found here.
The opening is from 6-9 pm; hope to see you there!

There is SO much going on this week in Ottawa, it’s hard to know where to begin!

Northern Scene kicks off tonight at the NAC and continues until the end of next weekend. I’ve written up what I’m looking forward to in theatre, music, visual arts, and film but I limited myself…

A wonderful shout-out from the CUAG Tumblr! Thank you, Fiona!

Next week, this image will be shown at the Calumet Gallery in New York City along with a number of other photographers’ work as a part of the YPA's Mentoring Program exhibition, entitled Hometown.
I’m very pleased to be a part of this show, along with some of my peers from SPAO: Josh Hotz, Mike Marquette, and Jessie Park-Wheeler.
New York folks, add yourself to the facebook event, and stop by on the 26th to check out some great artwork! :)

Once every two years, the Ottawa photography community celebrates: Festival X 2012 is our chance to look at, talk about, admire & engage with photographic art.
I am very excited to announce that I will be a part of three shows during Festival X, between September 20th and 30th!
These shows will take place at Enriched Bread Artists (EBA at Festival X), Patrick Gordon Framing (TEASE), and Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts (Stills in Motion). The latter will take place only on September 22nd, as a part of Nuit Blanche Ottawa, and the image above is a still from my video in that show. All of the others will have vernissages on September 21st, with varying times; check the Festival website for more details.
Hope to see lots of people out during the festival! See you there!!

I’ve been published again! One of my images is in the Ottawa Citizen for the local fundraiser taking part at the end of this month, Portraits of Bluesfest.
The event takes place on the 30th of August, at Patrick Gordon Framing at 160 Elm St. This show is truly a fantastic example of artwork from some of Ottawa’s greatest and I’m very pleased to say that I’ll be sharing the walls with colleagues and friends Angelina McCormick and Jamie Kronick, as well as a number of other very talented people!

Congratulations to Canadian artist Arnaud Maggs for winning the second annual Scotiabank Photography Award. Looking forward to his sure-to-be incredible show at the Contact Photography Festival next year and upcoming publication that goes along with the prize.
If you have not yet seen it, his show Identification at the National Gallery is beautiful and inspiring. Go see it!

13 - 18 has now been up at SPAO’s Red Wall Gallery for almost ten days! I am truly honoured by all the people who were able to make it out to my vernissage on the 16th, so thank you, thank you, thank you. :)
it has been so interesting talking with everyone about the works and I could not be happier with the response I have received. if you have not yet had a chance, be sure to stop by SPAO (168 dalhousie) between now and April 3rd, when the show comes down!
also, be sure to check out my updated website - I’ve put all the work from the show up so you can take a look before you stop by!

I am so pleased to announce that my solo show is finally (almost!) here. 13 - 18 opens this coming Friday, March 16, at SPAO’s Red Wall Gallery, 168 Dalhousie St. I would love to see you all there!
I am also very excited to announce that local poet Claudia Coutu Radmore has created a beautiful poetic response to my work as a part of the Call and Response program at the Red Wall Gallery. It is available to read online here for those who are interested.
The facebook event for the show can be found here.
